Luke 17

"The Kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed.."

Find the Kingdom - the coming of Jesus was the first of three phases in the unfolding of the Kingdom.  Jesus comes, the church proliferates, and Jesus comes again. Three progressive phases of unfolding of the Kingdom of God.

Remember Lot's Wife - don't cast your eyes on the city of sin.  Put your eyes forward and forget what is behind.

Prepare for the coming of Jesus - are you prepared? What manner of life ought we to live in light of these things?

"Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it."

Hosea 2

Do we have to put away our sins before coming to Christ?  Remember that God calls back his adulterous wife before she puts away her sin. The work of God is monergistic. He pursuades and draws as a loving, righteous, faithful husband. Praise the Lord! I recommend the book "God's Unfaithful Wife" by Ray Ortlund Jr. for more reading on Hosea and the theme of spiritual adultery throughout the Bible.
